Webinar: Industrial Symbiosis Standardization Dialogues – Current approaches, collaborations and bottlenecks

The standardization of Industrial Symbiosis (IS) is both challenging and crucial for establishing IS as a common industrial practice, essential for achieving the EU’s circularity goals and “zero” ambitions. The EU-funded RISERS project addresses this challenge by developing a comprehensive roadmap for IS standardization. The approach focuses on optimizing existing standards, such as those for the circular economy, and identifying gaps where new standards are needed.

This initiative requires the active involvement of industrial actors, standardization bodies, academia, and research organizations to integrate research and innovation results as a basis for new standardization areas and to stimulate standard-driven, demand-led innovation.

The RISERS project is organizing a series of stakeholder meetings to present project updates and gather feedback on issues related to IS standardization. This webinar, the first in the series, aims to provide an understanding of the status of standardization activities relevant to IS. Participants will also have the opportunity to influence the direction of future standards by contributing to our survey, designed to capture expert insights.
